A Black Magic Mystery
Count Dracula is having his annual dance party, The Crystal Ball. Conjurers,
creatures and consorts from every nook and cranny will be there. One highlight
of the Crystal Ball is Dracula’s Potent Potions Competition. Interested in
supporting local conjurers, Dracula sponsors a contest for the best new magical
brew of the year. First prize is Igor Big Hump, Dracula’s dedicated but slightly
demented and deformed manservant. Igor easily obtains the freshest bat’s wings,
frog’s legs and other insect ingredients required for potion making. Potions
that sell for a lot of money. Igor is highly sought after.
Last year’s winner, Morticia Morte, will be competing again. It’ll be her last time. A year ago Morticia accidentally ate the diseased brain of a contagious bovine and now Morticia has Mad Cow disease and less than a year to live. Morticia isn’t ready to die. Dr. Jekyl thinks he should get to enter twice, Gypsy Rue has come up with something new and Twyla Star is certain the recipe she ‘channeled’ will take the prize. Rivalry rages among the contestants but before the night is over there will be one less contender to contend with. Dancing, drinking and debauchery ease the tension while everyone waits for the taste test.
